ELIZABETH YUAN
Bleed
This work was inspired by my dependency to social media as a teenager. I used grayscale for the central figure to show the monotony and boredom of reality, while the neon colors in the background show the overstimulation from being online. The colorful tears falling from widened eyes symbolizes how mindless content consumption distorts our vision of what is healthy—whether in relationships, bodies, or lifestyles. When a single tap can lead to falling down a rabbit hole of perfectly curated content, we risk losing real human connection in the process.
